GO; THEY MERELY DETERMINE WHERE YOU START." Nido Qubein
Monday - Wednesday Mar 28-30th
I have clumped these 3 days together because I haven't written due to the fact we have done next to nothing in these 3 days. I was so glad to recover after last week. People keep asking us if we have started doing things for the last time. Since we still have over a month to go we haven't really done any (lasts) yet until Sunday. Sunday was our last holiday here in Mexico. I will start making lists of things we do for the last time. There are tons of things we have done for the last time, but it would have only been the one time anyway. If that makes any sense!
Monday was the day after Bonnie Zapatas birthday, so we took her to Vapiano's for lunch. It is an interesting Italian place. I guess the food is OK. At least it's not Mexican. The traffic was very bad getting there, but we made it there and back in a couple of hours. Elder Lowe went with us. He is doing some work in the office before he goes home in 2 weeks. FHE was given by the Carlsons who showed pics and talked about their trip to Israel. It was good timing since Easter was just Sunday. She has a beautiful singing voice and she sang a couple of songs with Sister Whitehead accompanying her. It was a nice time.
Tuesday, I never left the hotel and went out in the (fresh) air. I stayed in our place all day and walked on our treadmill and worked on projects. Actually I cleaned the oven and stove on Monday and today I cleaned the freezer out. I made a list of all of the foods that are in there so I can get most of it cooked up! I made homemade pizza for dinner and had the Griffins down for pizza, salad and rootbeer. Then we went up to their place to watch a movie - Big Stone Gap. It was a cute movie and not even as sad as the ones they usually pick!
Wednesday was about the same as Tuesday. I cleaned out the food cupboards and made another list of the things I have in there! I am now trying to make a menu so we can get all of this food eaten. If we don't get it eaten, it won't be hard to get rid of with all the missionaries around here!! We did take an hour and go pick up some medical supplies that Greg needs for the clinic and we drove to Polonco to get a tube to roll our map up in to take home. We had tin foil dinners for dinner and went up to the Andersons to watch a very old James Bond movie where Sean Connery is about 30 years old. Good times!! The Jazz lost to Golden State - sad. BYU lost in the NIT yesterday so they are out. Trump is still winning the primary elections around, but Cruz is coming on a little stronger. Not much else is going on!

Tuesday I cleaned out the freezer. We have a lot of food to eat still! I better get going on feeding the missionaries!! |
Today was a full day. We were up and out of here early to drive to Queretaro to do a zone leader conference. We arrived about 3 hours later and had to wait for an hour until Greg could give his schpeel! After that I was able to speak with the hermanas. We had a good session. Sometimes these sisters meetings get out of control when the Latin sisters start bringing up "good health" ideas like what you can eat and can't eat when you are having your monthly time, or what to eat when you need to be on a diet, or what not to eat when you feel sick. They have some real funny ideas and nothing they suggest will ever help with the problem. It's entertaining though!! We did hang around for another 1 1/2 hours after we were done because Pres. Majorada invited us to eat lunch with them. UGH! I couldn't take a pic since I was sitting next to the President, but it was a "great" Mexican meal with a piece of chicken, beans, spicy cactus and corn tortillas with Horchata to drink! I almost ate most of my plate! We finally got out of there and got home about 7 pm. We still went up and bugged the Griffins to watch a movie. We watched "Before we go" The movie ended but didn't ever finish! Bummer!

Friday, Apr. 1st HAPPY APRIL FOOLS DAY!
We didn't get hit by our kids too badly today. I feel bad, because I used to call my dad and tell him things like our house burned down and stuff! He would get all upset and then I would have to tell him April Fools day. He didn't think I was very funny, but the next year he would fall for it all over again! Poor guy! Anyhoooo - We did the usual by going to the Temple grounds, me to the temple and Greg to the clinic. We hurried home from the temple to meet up with the Andersons to go to dinner at Olive Garden and to the movie - Miracles Under Heaven. It was sad, but a great movie about a little girl that fell out of a tree and it cured her. It was a true story. Great day today!!
