Sat April 16
We told the Madsens that we would look for a painting for them at the artist fair at the Sabado Bazaar in San Angel. This is a quaint collection of artists and artisans that gather only on Saturdays in one of the old colonial areas in the south of Mexico City. There are two large parks filled with aspiring artists and lots of buildings with things to buy. We looked and looked for a painting for the Madsen's - they wanted something that reflects life in the pueblos - the small towns in Mexico. Their mission has one big city and lots of little pueblos. We didn't find anything that was just right but had fun looking. I found a painting of Popo and Ixta - the two 18,000 ft volcanos that watch over Mexico city. We bought some fun salt and pepper shakers and had some great quesadillas in a fun restaurant. We had to take Uber to and from since I can't drive on Wednesdays and the 3rd Saturdays until June 30 - this was an emergency law if pollution in Mexico City ever got real bad and I guess it did.

I don't understand why the dancers dress up as old men and dance around looking funny. I have seen this lots of times before! |

Sunday April 17 HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY SWEET TEENAGER ABIGAIL!
It is hard for me to remember to capitalize the months - in Spanish you don't capitalize months or days of the week. We did our report and went to church. I got my copy of my fast offering receipts as we won't attend church in our ward again - next week is stake conference. The Pratts invited us for dinner and we had Salmon - very tasty. We have started to pack - wondering if everything will fit in our suitcases and checking weights - I think we will be ok except for the basket we got at Copper Canyon.
