THOUGHT: "CHARACTER IS WHAT YOU THINK IN THE DARK!"
Dwight Moody
I am now bundling days especially since it is all one trip. We got to fly to Obregon yesterday. It was a 2 1/2 hour flight so we were a long ways from home! We got to stay with President and Sister Munive. Very nice people. They have 3 kids that are all living there - Emily the returned missionary, Keny - 17, and Alex - 14. The kids were very fun to talk to and hang out with!
Monday morning we got an early start and headed to the church for a zone conference. That lasted most of the day. Greg was getting sick in the morning. By afternoon he was not doing well at all! President took us to his favorite taco shop for tacos. They were good. Greg felt like throwing up!
He did actually when we got back to the house! Then he took an hour nap and felt a little better when he got up! He bugs me about drinking diet Pepsi or Coke, but I keep telling him that I have yet to throw up and he has 2 barfing sessions under his belt. My theory is that the Coke kills everything so I won't get sick! We will see how long that theory works for, but for now it is working!!! We watched the Ben Carson movie. That is a very good movie and you all should watch it!
Tuesday we got up early again and drove for 3 hours to a city called Guasave. We were looking for hospitals for the missionaries to go to if they get sick! WOW! I hope I never get sick in that town!
I took some pics of one of the hospitals we looked at. There really isn't a lot of good places to choose from!!! We looked at 3 different hospitals and don't really know which one to pick! Poor missionaries! Pray extra hard for those missionaries in this part of the world! We drove back to
Los Mochis for lunch at a seafood place. We were pretty close to the coast here, so we felt we could eat the seafood! You don't want to eat seafood in Mexico City - that's for sure!!! I had a piece of grilled fish with zucchini and platinos (bananas) in a honey ginger sauce. It was good. Greg was even dumb enough to get a big plate of fish even though his stomach was still acting up!!! Whatever! I am done lecturing him! He can throw up anytime he wants! We drove back home - another 3 hours and had a slice or bread for dinner and went to bed! We had to be up early again on Wednesday to catch our plane.
We got back to Mexico City without any problems. The Smiths dropped us off and picked us up from the airport. We left our car at the Temple where they live. They are such nice people! Greg had to see missionaries at the temple clinic so I stayed with the Smiths and gabbed with them for an hour. After a long drive back up to the MTC we finally made it home around 4:30. We were pooped. Sister Sandberg called and invited me to the Spanish-English class she is starting to teach at the ward. All the senior sisters walked up to the church and met with some of the spanish sisters. We had an hour lesson of which we helped them with English alphabet and numbers and they helped us with spanish! We all had a great time and maybe even learned something!!!

Pic of a typical road in Obregon! A mormon designed this city. I love the wide streets that are on the block like normal civilization! |

The church in Obregon |
One small pic of the miles and miles and miles of corn fields! |
We were stopped at a light and this water delivery guy pulled up next to us! |
The next pics are of a little itty bitty hospital in Guasave! Anyone want to stay in this place! This is the ER! |
A hallway down to 5 rooms! |
Love the bed, the oxygen tank and the worn out sheets and blankets! |
The air conditioner above the fancy drapery casing! |
This bedside table is no less than 100 years old! Let alone the oxygen tank! |
There are 6 of these little sun rooms along the hallway! They do let good light in and have nice plants! |
The sign out in front of the hospital! |
Another view! |
I noticed these 2 missionary bikes as we walked into a church! They are beat up, muddy and full on worn down! Good job bikes!! |

The Munive family Alex, Keny and Emily |
A view of the massive Mexico City as we were flying in! |
Another view! Now do you wonder why we get lost! |
We had to drive up to the MTC. This is the view across the street! |
Yep we are thinking of moving here after our mission!!! |
There was a time, in Mexico, we would have been glad for any one of the hospitals. Since we did not have a social security card, none of them would take in our seriously injured traveling companion.
