4 MONTHS AND COUNTING!!!

Tuesday, Mar 10th

THOUGHT:  "GIVE LIGHT AND PEOPLE WILL FIND THE WAY!"

Can you believe it???  4 months gone on this mission!  Some ways I can believe it and some ways I can't!  You know how life goes!  We are getting busier,  so I am predicting the next 14 months will fly by!  How is your life?  Will the next 14 months fly by for you??   Pretty sure they will!
OH AND BY THE WAY!  Sorry I left you hanging for awhile about Spencer!  He is in Hawaii with Beka and Mitch.  He was snorkeling with everyone and climbed up on a big rock at the breaker point between the huge waves and the calm snorkeling waters.  So a huge wave attacked him and knocked him over into a large coral bed!.  He ended up in the ER with cuts and scrapes all over his left side and a hole in the top of his head!  The doctor couldn't stitch up his head, so he will probably have a bald spot there!  He got 5 stitches in his left upper arm.  He has bad cuts and scrapes under his left arm, his side, leg, ankle and bum!  Plus the blow hole in his head!  I wish my kids would just stay home and learn how to knit or something!!!   It all gets me too stressed!  He will be fine, but won't have as much fun as he could have this week in Hawaii!  Poor guy!!!
So, to celebrate the day I had a blast today!  Sister Hall - (wife of Pres. Hall of North mission) called and invited me to go with her to check the Elders and Sister Missionary's apartments!  I have been waiting to get into some of the places the missionaries live!  Overall, I was impressed.  We saw a lot of Sister missionary's apartments and they were in pretty good shape for what they have to deal with!
Some of them have mold in the bathroom, light fixtures that don't work, water that doesn't run sometimes, power that doesn't work - you know - the usual for Mexico!!!  These missionaries are very brave soldiers!   A BIG shoutout to them!!!
I took lots of pics so I will put them on here.
Also I have to add the pics of the flowers I took yesterday!
Tuesday evening after I finally got home, we did some shopping and cleaned up around here!
We are leaving town on Thursday so we had to get cleaned up!

Look at the pretty flower arrangements they make
out on the street!
All of these!

5 Stitches on left arm and look at the
awful cuts under his arm!

Spencer's new blow hole!!!

I took a pic of one of the 50 or so apartment buildings
that are in this area!

Each building has it's own locked gate!
The sisters threw the keys out of their
window to the Zone leaders to open the gate.

Another apartment in a little housing area.
To the right of the stairs are 2 or 3 different houses.
There are move stairs up these stairs to an apartment
up higher.  Not sure how many total apartments
are in this little space!
That is Sister Mendez with the horrible back pain
that we have been trying to help!

Fancy couches!
Just don't sit on them!
Boards are sticking up through the cushions!

Their study room!
Pretty nice huh?

Bedroom with extra bed frame the girls don't know what to do with!

All of their message and thoughts taped to the wall!

Kitchen table
Fancy plastic tablecloth!

Their cupboards and closets all in one in the kitchen!

Kitchen with white fridge and cook plate

In the middle of the apartment is a window that
looks down into someone else's house!
It's hard to see all the stuff down there
but let me tell you, there is a lot of stuff!
Also, can you see a part of the chandelier
hanging there?

Well, here is what it is having from -
a PVC pipe stuck across the open space,
not sure how it is secured and then the wiring from
who knows where with the
cord handing down the middle to the
chandelier!
Welcome to Mexico!

Another sister's apartment!
This is a bright and nicer place!

View across the street at the blue house

REAL friendly neighbor dog! Yeah right!

The owners do have this beautiful parrot that talks and
whistles at everyone!
Also, this is Sister Hall with me!

A pic in front of the pink house the sisters live in
Here is a pic with the sisters, zone leaders and
Sister Hall!

Colorful Sister's bedroom!
The Elders bedrooms don't look like this!

A completely blue bathroom - tile, toilet, sink!

Another Sisters Kitchen!  This is it!
the sink is in the room off to the left!

Here is the sink out on the patio with the
clothes line!

Stairs in the living room that go up to the roof!
All the missionaries and everyone else
goes up on their roofs!
The missionaries are not suppose to go up there
So many missionaries have been
electrocuted!

We had parked and were walking to the Elders home
Here is an apartment building with plants all over it
even up high!

Walking straight down the street, look at all
of those houses up on the hill!

Yep, I was busy looking a cool stuff and tripped over this huge hole
in the road!  I'm sure the tires love driving over this!

This Elders apartment is painted all this bright blue
except for the bathroom!

The bathroom!
You can't see the toilet in the lefthand corner
but it is almost under the shower head which
is across from the sink!
When you shower it takes up the whole room!!!

Look at this itty, bitty CLEAN sink!
Can't scrub anything else off it!
It's the littlest sink I have ever seen!

To the left of me is the door to the Elders apartment!
These ladies found a little spot and set up shop!  The older lady
on the right embroidered all these tortilla cloths.
I am holding one she made and Sister Hall
bought it for me!
This is the kitchen of the Elders apartment!
Very clean!
I didn't take pics of the dirty apartments!
I didn't want to embarrass anyone!

Walking back to our car we found fresh made corn tortillas!
Sister Hall bought a bunch and taught us to
sprinkle a little salt on them before eating!
Much better!

Not sure how this machine works, but this is a pile of dough
that probably squirts out just the right amount
for each tortilla!!!
How did you like all these pics??

THOUGHT:  "WHATEVER YOU VIVIDLY IMAGINE, ARDENTLY DESIRE, SINCERELY
BELIEVE, AND ENTHUSIASTICALLY ACT UPON..... MUST INEVITABLY COME TO PASS!"
                                                                                                                    Paul J. Meyer

This morning we had to run a few errands especially to Costco to get some goodies for our trip to Guadalajara!  We leave in the morning for that trip with 9 other couples!
In the afternoon we had to work at the Temple clinic.  It was quite busy seeing sick missionaries!  We had 2-3 Sisters with wax in their ears and had to squirt it out!  Hope they are happy now!  It took us awhile to get home as usual!  We packed and got ready to go!  It should be a fun trip!
Spencer is healing and feeling better!  He went into shock with all his cuts and all the blood!  The kids are having a great time in Hawaii!
Actually we made a list of all the missions we have visited in the past almost 4 months!
