Real short weekend

Saturday, Apr. 25th

THOUGHT:  "Everyone has gifts; everyone can contribute."

- It started out much earlier than Peg would have preferred.  I had a meeting at the temple grounds to plan a big training meeting we are having for about 50 doctors all over Mexico.  There is still a lot to do - one of our main speakers cancelled at the last minute.  I have to arrange babysitting for 13 of the kids coming - ages 2 - 14.  They all stay on the temple grounds in the dormitorios where the old MTC was.  I am expected to MC this and am a little nervous - still working on my Spanish.  These doctors are wonderful and sacrifice a lot to take care of the missionaries.  We then hurried home - someone needed to take my car to get it inspected, but we were able to stop at the flea market and get a couple of things and of course some cream popcicles at the store right by the flea market.  I made about $100 of purchases for the clinic at the temple.  We went to Costco for a few purchases then we had to go early to the adult session of stake conference (we were singing in the stake choir.)  They had 2 young men who had recently received their mission calls and they gave wonderful talks (one is in our ward and son of an area 70.)
PS Sara, Hadley and Beka got tickets to go to the open house of the Payson Temple!  Sara wrote under Hadleys pic - "I love to see the Temple, I am going there today!"

I love to see the Temple
I am going there today!

Sunday, Apr. 26th

THOUGHT:  "May the Lord's grace bring happiness now and faith in sure promises to come."

 - we got up early (40 minute drive to the stake center and we had to be there early for one last choir practice.)   The conference was wonderful - the stake relief society president talked - she grew up in a family where her father was not a member and was abusive to the family.  She talked about how we all can't choose to be raised in an ideal family situation but we can all plan on making our family (spouse and children) exactly what Heavenly Father wanted - we don't need to carry on mistakes of our parents.  Her talk carried a wonderful spirit.  Sunday afternoon was lazy (I even had a brief nap) and we watched A.D - the Roma Downy sequel to the Bible - she has taken a little liberty on the story line but overall it is very well done.  Now we have to get ready to make our whirlwind run back to Salt Lake for graduations and weddings.
