THOUGHT: "THE BEST WAY OUT IS ALWAYS THROUGH!" Robert Frost
This is going to be a much quieter week - hopefully! We left in the early afternoon and drove back to Xalapa to do Pres. Greers last zone conference. We arrived just in time for dinner. Sister Greer made salmon with a yummy sauce and potatoes and salad. I love American food! We went for a nice long walk after dinner. It was such a nice cool evening with a breeze. The Greers are such nice people. They are so thoughtful. We had a nice visit and went to bed a little early which was great!

This is the scene outside the guest room at the Greers in Xalapa! This is a monster house made out of concrete! |

For some reason, Greg takes pics of king size beds This is the one at the Greers mission home. We love sleeping in a king size bed! Our oversized twin is just not big enough! |

Tuesday, Sept 22nd
Another zone conference for the Greers! All went well. I had a meeting with about 24 sisters. They didn't have very many questions so it was another easy day for me! Greg didn't have to see many missionaries either so it was a nice day. We left part way through the zone conference to drive home. The drive is so nice because the scenery is awesome. Greg even drove for a half of it so I could look around. We didn't go home - we drove over to the Smiths apartment because we had been invited over to the Halls mission home for steaks. We picked up the Smiths and Pococks and drove over to the Halls. They are all friends from Idaho Falls. Greg and I just got to tag along! Dinner was heavenly. We had steaks that had actually been cooked on a grill outside. That's a first here in Mexico. We also had funeral potatoes and frog eyed salad. I didn't know how much I had missed good old American food! We finally got home around 10 pm - tired!
Wednesday, Sept 23rd
We had to be up and on the road to another zone conference in the Chalco mission at 7 am. It was a 2 hour drive to the mission. We were out in the middle of nowhere close by the volcano Popo. It was cloudy and we were unable to see much of the mountain. It did peek it's top out of the clouds and was not spouting smoke at the time! The zone conference was a success. President and Sister Crickmore had all of their missionaries come in this one church. We didn't have to travel all over the planet to get to their whole mission. We had a sisters meeting and they didn't ask very many questions. I think that when there are more than about 10 sisters in the room, they get shy and won't ask anything! Smaller groups work better!
After our part of the zone conference and after Greg was done seeing the missionaries that were sick we headed back home. We got home around 1 pm. The Griffins had asked us to take them to the MTC to see a relative that is there so we left home around 3:30 to drive out there. It took us an hour to get there in the afternoon traffic. We got there in time to greet the new missionaries that were coming on the bus from the airport! They all looked so tired and anxious. We had a nice little visit with some of them and then they were whisked off to get with the program. The church works very efficiently in this area of missionary stuff. The Griffins found their relative and they had a nice visit. We ate dinner in the cafeteria - hamburgers and fries, salad and fruit with all the missionaries. We also had a nice visit with the Beechers. They are leaving their mission early because they don't speak Spanish and another bilingual couple is replacing them. The Beechers are happy to be going home the end of October. They are not sure if they are going on another mission or just stay home. I think they have been on 5 missions now! We didn't leave until after 8 pm to drive home, which took us another hour. I don't know why the traffic is so bad right now! The holiday was last week!
This day was busy but turned out to be a fun day!

We had to watch out for this tractor and trailer as we were driving to the Chalco zone conference! |

We parked the car in front of the church and this is what we saw walking towards us! I love all the cute missionaries! |

Thursday, Sept 24th Happy Birthday Aunt Zina!
I love mellow days! We took a long walk up to the church and around down the other side of the neighborhood and stopped at Office Max. Greg also had some errands to do over at the church office building! I got lots of things done around the place and life was good today! I called my Aunt Zina to talk to her, but her family was still there so I will call her tomorrow! Not much activity this week, and I love it!!
Friday, Sept 25th
Today was Temple clinic day. The Rices asked if they could ride over to the temple with us to do a session. I had heard that the temple was very busy and the headphones for English were locked in a closet and no one knew where the key was! I finally decided to go with the Rices to the Temple. It was crowded, but someone found the key to the headphones and we were able to listen in English. That was wonderful. The session lasted about3 hours, but it was nice to be in our own Temple!
We walked out of the temple just as Greg walked out of the clinic so perfect timing!! We met up with the Smiths and Pococks and went to lunch at their favorite Mexican place - Danesa. The food was good, but all Mexican food is starting to taste the same to me now! It took us forever to get there and then forever to get home. We arrived back home at 5:45. The Andersons invited us to watch a movie - Thief of time which is the third Tony Hillman book turned into a movie. It was nice to be back with friends!
