Sad - my birthday is over!

Monday, Sept 28th

THOUGHT: "YOU GOTTA LOOK FOR THE GOOD IN THE BAD....
                                           THE HAPPY IN YOUR SAD.......
                                               THE GAIN IN YOUR PAIN......
AND WHAT MAKES YOU GRATEFUL, NOT HATEFUL"

Well, I have heard the end of the world is happening today!  It might as well since my birthday is over and I don't get to hear from my family and friends for a long time!😘  Today we had to go to Telcel to stop our dumb internet service that hasn't worked for 10 days.  We invited the Andersons and after Telcel we took them to the good hamburger place we found on this fancy little street.  We all had either hamburgers or grilled chicken sandwiches and they were yummy!  We drove around and ended up at Costco for a shopping spree for the Andersons.  We enjoy offering to take the senior couples to the store since we are the ones with the car.  The Andersons did big shopping and we wandered around looking at all of the Christmas stuff that is out now.  Let's see - what is the date?  Yep still September!.  We got back home and Greg spent the rest of the afternoon preparing for FHE. He gave the lesson tonight.  The lesson was on the Colonies of Mexico.  His Stevens relatives lived there and he loves learning about the history of that place.  Everyone seemed to like the history lesson tonight.  Lot's of the senior couples had ties to the Colonies as well so they were happy to learn more about their own heritage.  We had lemon pie for dessert!  Glad that's over for awhile!  Also, I don't see the world ending yet so our mission will go on!

Tuesday, Sept 29th

We were up and out early today.  Greg wanted to do a session at the Temple since he misses out on Fridays.  We invited the Griffins.  We got headphones so we were able to listen in English.  That was very nice. We met up with the missionaries from the MTC with the Beechers.  We also met up with the Whiteheads who is our mission president.  He took missionaries to the temple that are going home tomorrow.   The Griffins wanted to see the clinic on Temple Square where Greg works so we showed them that.  We were then going to show them where the Smiths and Pococks live, but they were all coming out and getting into their cars to go to lunch!  We, of course, invited ourselves and had a very fun time at VIPS with the group.  I sat next to Sister Pocock.  She is a crazy lady.  The Pococks are going home on October 19th.  We are all so sad!(except her).  She has had 2 bags packed for a month now!! Their friends came to visit this week and the Pococks are sending 2 suitcases home with them so they won't have so much stuff to manage on the 19th.  It took us an hour to get home.  The Griffins needed to go to Costco so we ended up driving them there later in the evening.  They did a ton of shopping and we wandered around looking at stores.  I even bought some new shoes.  Greg is trying to get credit for Christmas shopping, but since it is 2 days after my birthday I am counting the shoes as a late birthday gift!  Our internet is not working tonight, so we watched a PBS move and now heading to bed!

Lunch at Tok's after the temple
