We decided to take a trip downtown to a market called the Jamaica market. We weren't sure about parking there and driving is such a hassle we decided to take buses/subway. Around Christmas and Easter so many people go out of town to visit family that the streets are not that busy. We had to wait a little for the bus near our apartment (holiday schedule) but it was not very crowded. We got off in front of the national auditorium and went about 4 stories underground to catch this subway line. We had one transfer but arrived at the market in about 45 minutes. About half of the shops were closed but the large flower market for which this market is famous for was open. Peg was taking pictures of floral arrangements and some of the shop owners got a little angry. We decided that there was not much going on there and hopped back on the subway and decided to go and check out the World Trade Center in Mexico City - a 49 story building with a rotating restaurant on top - thinking it might be a nice place for lunch. The walk was about 6 blocks and Peg's back was not feeling up to it so we tried the Metrobuses for the first time. These are very long buses that run in the center lanes that are just for buses on the busier streets in Mexico City. We had to buy a card and put money on the card to get on. We hopped on the first bus that came by and later learned that could have been a real disaster. There are about 6 lines the run along Insurgentes (one of the main north/south streets in Mexico City). Luckily it dropped us off in front of the building. We went up the the restaurant but it was really fancy and very expensive. We did not feel like spending that much for lunch so we went back down and ate at a California Pizza Kitchen at the base. We went to get back on the bus and I was studying a map and didn't see that Peg had already boarded. When I realized what had happened I ran for the bus, she tried to hold the doors open and I made it just barely. that was fortunate because this bus was not going back where we picked it up. We had to get off at a station and back track to our original station. Peg did not have her cell phone with her and no money - could have been a disaster if I had not forced my way on. We made it home and had to fight other residents for laundry. The Griffins wanted to go out to eat - they had just dropped their daughter and her two kids off at the airport and were exhausted - wanted some adult company. We decided to go to Tony Romas for some ribs - that was a great meal.

Elder Pratt spoke in sacrament meeting and did a nice job. Brother Reyes (former stake president and mission president) gave the Sunday School lesson on the last chapters of Revelation and did a great job. I gave the priesthood lesson on the Area Plan for 2015 which is pretty much the same for 2016. The Area Plan that our area presidency came up with was actually presented to all of the 70's this last October conference as an example of a very well thought out and structured plan. I guess I did ok - no one complained. I did my letter to Elder Schwitzer as usual and we had roast with the Griffins. Quiet day. (I even got in a 30 min nap.)
